Non-vented or vented?

Try lubing the o-rings w/ a drop of engine oil. If it's a vented opti... give it a hard shove.

Only one way they go on, use some oil like already mentioned, and make sure nothing is interfering.....

Check the hole and make sure chunks of the old one aren't in there.

... speaking from experience

If you still have the 92 cam, there is 1 tooth in the splined shaft that lines up the rotor with the cam. It slips on when perfectly aligned. Look for the white dot on the shaft.

I've always had more luck putting the shaft on the cam then setting the opti in place.

It just take patients.

I just installed mine the other day, I know how you feel. I positioned the drive pin mark to 12:00 on the motor first, then pulled the pin out of the motor and oriented the opti to 12:00 as well. The problem is; when you twist the opti, the pin moves the distributor drive pin and it won't line up. Line-em both up to 12:00 and don't twist it and she will pop right on. I guarantee it!

Good luck
