Default another clutch question

k, i just had the slave cylinder changed in my car. The clutch was working great beforehand, it was just imposslbe to shift because of the slave.

now the clutch engages high, and I can make it slip. I have to power shift to do this, but, when i powershifted before, had no problems. I know the mech didnt do to much with the car, as they drove it a total of 3 miles. Could there be a problem with air in the system? I cant figure it out.

Thanks for your help. :smash:

If there is air in the line you would still have a soft pedal. If you have a firm pedal you have a much bigger problem than just a slave cylinder. Something doesn't sound right too me. :skep: Can you give any more details, I'm sure someone has been there before.

the pedal isnt real difficult, but I cant remember the effort it took to depress it before, as it was parked for awhile, then the slave went, it was replaced, and now its not right. Its very wierd, sometimes the engine will just rev, and it would break the tires loose, other times, it will spin the tires. its like hte clutch is sticking or something. i dont know either. thx for any info you can get for me tho..

It sounds to me that you have a bad clutch. If it were only air in the line you would have a soft pedal and it would be difficult to physically put the car in gear. There are some really knowledgable clutch guys on this forum; I'm sure they will offer an opinion.

Are you sure he installed the right slave? If you were not having any problems before and now your clutch is slipping there is something very wrong. Could just be the timing of the two... You might have a bent clutch fork as well.

Pedal effort should be very light, with the clutch releasing at the bottom of the pedal.
