I want to replace all the vacuum lines on my '86 Coupe, but can't seem to find any parts at the normal places. Is there a place, dealer or otherwise, that would sell a complete OEM vacuum line kit? Or am I better off just replacing all the lines by cutting them myself, and replacing all that britle plastic with new rubber lines, using 'T's where needed?
The plastic vacuum tubing has been discontinued for some time by Mr Greedwrench. I replaced all of it with rubber tubing on my 87 and suffered no problems. No one makes any "kits" that I am aware of.
You can still pick up one of the two plastic lines from GM, the other you can get from a later model, (this one attaches the to the fuel pressure regulator) and it has an extra connection (at least one more than my 85) which I just capped off. I took the end connector off of the original one and put it on the modified replacement in order to have the lines go in the correct direction. I've had no problems.
I just orderd mine from a local GM dealer, some of the lines are still avialible some are not.... The long line that "V"s and connects to the fuel pressure reg is still avil, I have it in my hand, just rec it today $14.00 plus $8.43 s&h. I also needed the egr valve harness and hoses unfortunally those are NLA.... Take a look at my past posts for the GM part numbers

Re: Vacuum Lines (stock86vette)
My plastic lines were broken in a few places... I replaced all the rubber lines, and patched up the plastic ones by cutting them and sticking rubber lines and tees where necessary. All better.
