Not to answer for Jeff, but you do use the stock shroud and cut out for the fit. If you have a front fan then you need to leave two strips from top to bottom to hold the fan firmly.
So basically I have to pull the stock shrould and cut it, right ?
Vic
Well, I don't think you HAVE to remove it, but it does make cutting easier. I actually sold my Breathless rammer and the guy buying it swapped shrouds with me. that is why I removed it.
65Z01, Yes 85vet is correct, I cut my own shroud. Then TPiS gives that plate to sandwich the filter to the top housing.
Check the clearance of the long screw/bolt given to hold it on. Mine hit the hood, so I opted to use smaller bolts.
Use a rubber grommet between the housing and shroud to eliminate the fiberglass housing lip from bending or cracking. Your only concern is to seal the filter and without a spacer, the fiberglass lip bends way out of shape.
I just positioned the botton piece in the car without the filter. Drew a line outlining the filter location. Then left two thin strips from top to bottom in the middle for support.
Had Dad hold teh shop vac, while I used a dremel tool with a cutoff to make the hole. No mess and done in about 10 minutes.
