The kit I ordered online said 1959-85' part#2802. My car is an 85' so I ordered it. The set came today and the part# is the same, but the year # goes to 79' not 85'. The ? is. Can I use the gasket kit on my 85'. I have a fully ported accell intake, so a bought a different intake gasket.Everythin else is the same, oil pan, head ex. right? Any input would be
What am I missing??? Because it doesn't fit '59-'78, as advertised, you're afraid it might not fit the '85 it is both advertised, and says it fits???

I think he bought the set because it was supposed to be for years 59-85, but when it showed up it says for years 59-79. His is an 85.

You are right. I must have read the post too quickly. I misunderstood, and thought the box said '79 - '85. Ad: '59 - '85...Box: '59 - '79. Got it! Thanks.
The only real difference in the pre-LT-1 years of SB Chevy's are the oil pan (L or R dipstick- and some gaskets accomodate both), and the rear main seal type, which also changes the pan gasket. There are also head/intake differences, which would be early style, later style, and Vortec if using those heads.
There are different sets for different port sizes, as well as different head gaskets to accomodate different bore sizes. The "standard" is usually up to 350, and then there are 400 size.
