When a fuel injected car has cold starting problems, I usually head for things that measure temperature. The Engine Coolant Temp (ECT)sensor is supposed to send an accurate reading to the ECM. The ECM will then create and rich or lean condition based on that reading. I would connect a scanner and read the ECT reading. Assuming a cold engine, the reading should be close to ambient temp. The ECT and ECM act as a "choke" system for a carburated engine.
