I am thinking it is about time to replace my shocks. After 14 years I think they are about due. I need some good shocks to help with my cornering in autocrossing. Any suggestions? Part numbers? Places to buy? I need fronts and rears but I hear the rears are the most important. Thanx!

Re: New shocks (C490Vette)
I like my KYBs for all around driving but there are probably better choices for autoXing. Surely with as many who seem to do that someone will have some ideas.
If you don't mind a bit of a rough ride go with the Delco/Bilstein for the 1990 Z51 suspension. They are a good shock and a lifetime warranty against failure.
You didn't mention what suspension you have, (FE1,FX3,Z51,R9G) but the next thing you will be wanting is to do is upgrade your suspension. :yesnod:
Check your bushings. If the shocks haven't been replaced in 14 years, your bushing probably need to be replaced also. Its a never ending battle.

Re: New shocks (C490Vette)
Get yourself this book from Amazon.com "101 Projects for your Corvette" by Richard Newton. I think they sell it for around $21. He says that sway bars and urethane bushings are the most important thing for handling. He has a full section on suspension. I am amazed about the amount of info in this book! He covers every subsystem on the C4s and debunks a lot of so-called "conventional wisdom" that is floating around out there. I'm on my 4th Corvette and second C4. This book and Gordon Killebrew's class should be mandatory before you ever buy a C4. :flag God bless America, apple pie, mom, Chevrolet, Zora, Dave, Gordon and Richard! :flag (Also kudos to Coors beer! )
Talk to VBP and tell them what your application is, they'll hook up whatever you need in a very very timely fashion and at a good price. Forum members still get discounts I believe??? I got my spring there (amazing) and some Bilsteins from them. Best part was that I got a quote like two days after I ordered the parts that was lower than what I paid, and they gladly made up the difference
