Default LT4 roller rocker recall

Just found out today that my car has not had the recall performed. Went to the dealer and they ran the vin# and told me the news. My question is this, is there a better set of rocker arms that I can purchase other than what GM will put on? Im not really worried about the out of pocket cost. I just really dont want the dealership working on my car. Would rather pay and have my mechanic do it. My car has 34K miles on it, obviously I should get this done, but Im getting married in 4 weeks and going on a honeymoon, so moneys a little tight right now. Can it wait awhile or should I get it done ASAP? Thanks for the help. :)

I'd see if the dealer would just give you the rockers, of course they'll need your old ones for warranty. Sell the new ones for whatever you can get for them and get some CC Pro Magnums. Worth a shot........

Hmmm, that's one thing I need to check... I upgraded to an LT4 in January and I never thought to check on the RR recall to see if it applied to my car...

Thanks for the reminder...

If it's not broken now it's not likely to break in the future.
You'll be OK. I wouldn't sweat it.

I dunno about that. Couple months ago there was a guy here who suffured some engine damage as a result of not having the recall taken care of. I think his car had around 50k miles. I thought that was quite irresponsible on the original owner's part.

Well, you can run it to failure or serve it tea and cake.

If the part is babied then maybe it'll survive.. I'm not inclined to save a vernerable part.

I'm just saying it could fail at any time. Yes, the probability of failure in the next four weeks is quite low, but I wouldn't ignore it forever, as one forum member painfully discovered.

Im definitly going to replace them one or another. Back to my original question, is there a better roller than what GM will replace them with? I think they would use the Crane Golds if Im not mistaken.
