Im wanting to buy some 4.10 gears for my 95 6 speed and am wondering where I should get them at. I would prefer the kind where I dont have to change my carrier or whatever and the best price possible, responses are appreciated!
With a 6-speed, you have the Dana 44 rear. A carrier swap will not be necessary. I purchased my gears from Jeg's, and my installation kit from my local Chevy dealer. I had a shop do the install. Total cost...$1100. Good luck.
Whether the internal case has to be changed, depends on the ratio your are changing FROM. If you have a high ratio, I don't know if there are any "thick" 4.10 gears available for the Dana 44, or not.

Dunno. Sounds reasonable. You are a dozen years, two engines, and at least one transmission beyond my field of familiarity. No case change required on a 3.45 to 4.11 change.
I will add my two cents worth, having spoken to 4 gear vendors recently, and purchased new gears and install kit. I was told that the 3 size carrier was in geared cars that were less than 3.73 from factory. That a 4 size carrier was needed for gears 3.73 and larger to 5.88 and beyond, unless you buy a thick gear, which most dont sell. Randy's ring & Pinion has gears and rebuild kits (thats where I got mine from). http://www.ring-pinion.com/docs/randpcat.pdf TPIS has gears too page 73 http://www.tpis.com/CatalogPages/CatalogPage.asp</A> as well as http://www.precisiongear.com/ and http://www.richmondgear.com/ and <A HREF="http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/cat30.htm" TARGET="_blank">http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/cat30.htm page 30. I had the Toms diff 4.11 just pulled from the Dana 44 I just bought. It had 100o miles on it from previous owner. I switched to 3.45 gears. Toms gears when you look at site says there 4.11 gear is the thick one that will fit the 3 size carrier. which it did as verified by my DIFF gear change mechanic. My mechanic charged me $under $200 to change out the gears and set it up with new washers and rebuild kit and bearings. I had to buy parts. New gears were like $225 plus shipping then rebuild kit is like $125. make sure you get the crush sleeve. My first rebuild kit didnt have one in it. Good luck to ya. hope that helps.
