problem with power locks
I bought new switches and installed them and still they do not work.
I can lock and unlock my doors with my alarm system.
is there something I'm missing??

Just between 85 and 86 the door lock wiring is completely different.
Most keyless entry systems wire into the door lock wiring under the hush panel.. and send a momentary ground signal. The door switches do the same. If the ground source to the switch is cut somewhere, a new switch won't solve the problem. Check voltage on the switch center lead to be sure its not actually 12V, then check for continuity to a known ground.
