half shaft R&R proceedure?
I tried a search but came up empty. I'm sure this has been posted many times, but can you tell me the best way to remove and install the Half shafts in an 86 coupe? I've got a loose ujoint and I need to replace them all. If you can include the drive shaft , It you help. Thanks

CF member scorp508 has created an excellent how-to document on this:

Leave the camber bolt alone. Take the bolt off the other, the one connected to the knuckle. That way you don't need to worry about keeping track of the alignment marks.
When jacking up the spring, slide the floor jack in from the wheel side and not the rear of the car. Put a towel on the jack to protect the spring. Put the jack pad in just past the spring nut right on the spring. Keep in mind it may not feel like the spring is pushing down hard, but there is alot of force pushing down.

Six in one half dozen in the other.
:iagree: I just did my axle shaft u-joints this weekend. Just use a 3/8 socket extension to line the hole back up. I also found it much easier to get to the differential strap bolts with about 2' of socket extensions from outside the wheel well. Hope this helps
