Default Head/Cam TPI - Need Input

I'd like some feedback on anyone running a Heads and Cam TPI combo.

What Aftermarket Heads or Cam are you running ?

Any Track times or Dyno sheet would be helpfull.

Thanks

Vic

Vic, check out that "Result of L98 mods" page on my site. The table is taken from an old mag. article with similar mods to a '90 L98. You will notice that Vette was not as quick as yours with similar mods...maybe the gears...and it was a 6-speed???

The just ported & worked the #113s and tried two TPIS cams but it will give some idea of what to expect. I can see you gaining about 50-60chp with your intended mods, after they're tuned in of course.

Lets see what contemporary info comes in here.

I HAD a 224/230 on 112 Compcams and ported fastburn heads. I had a real pita because the had a lot of dynamic vacuum between 1500 and 4500 at part throttle so I was running realy lean. Even thogh I compensated with a custom chip and more fuel...all I did was run lean (>17) at part throttle and rich (<12). I was running a SDPC base and the stock runners. The heads flowed about 265 CFM, and the whole inuduction path flowed (gulp) 198 CFM!

Basically, my idea of a high speed tuned system worked, but before I could tune it. I know run a MRIII with same duration 114 deg sep and MORE LIFT!

I agree, there has to be tons here. You know my setup (see April '04 mods in my sig), but its yet to happen since I'm waiting on the heads. I should have it all installed in a few weeks. Sorry I can't be of any use at the moment, I wish I could :(

edit: I think that eventually you and I will be in about the same boat in terms of mods.

I basically have the same upper end as you. I went with a ZZ4 cam because its a perfect match to the 113 heads which I didn't plan on changing. You could probably go with a ZZ9 (maybe a little larger) before the stock heads and the rest of the intake are an issue. I don't have any numbers at the moment, but just put a custom chip in and plan to take it the VetteDoctors to dyno as soon as it stops raining - if ever.......

Do you have a superram or TPI ?

I dont see any examples of low 12 second TPI Vettes.

See sig. I have no clue what I'm going to run at the track though (if I can ever get out to it). :banghead: It feels really strong though.
