There's no such thing as Cheap and Good Quality, especially when it comes to Corvettes.

I found Jeg's has some good deals on stuff, but you have to ask them about availability.

Other then that, Eckler's has EVERYTHING!

Have you seen the two group purchases going on here in the forum right now? One is at the top of the C4 parts section and the other in general discussion. Do you wish to retain smog hook-ups, cats, etc.? I would encourage you to do a little research and read every thread you can find on the subject. It's one of the most discussed topics here. Because they can be rather pricey for our cars and require more exhaust system modification than for the average car make sure you know exactly what you want before you take the plunge. The good news is it's a very worthwhile mod and will enhance any further ones you do down the road. These cars cry out for and respond to exhaust improvements very well. Check out headerdesign.com for some very interesting and informative reading on the subject.

I've had Heddman's long-tubes on most of my cars since I was 16 years old (I'm 56 now) and have been happy with them, although I recommend double gaskets. I forgot where I got my last set but on the Net, $172.00 (no AIR or O2). Then coat them with $15 worth of stainless steel header paint from Eastwood and you have just gained 40HP, so says my Desktop Dyno 2000 software anyway.

Don't waste your money on ceramic coating. It doesn't make you 1HP more. And have you ever heard of anyone "wearing out" a set of headers because they weren't ceramic coated?

The amount of HP gain you see will depend on any other mods you have done to your vehicle. On an otherwise stock Vette, you'll probably see 7-10 HP to the rear wheels from long tubes, and less than that with shorties. Putting it simply, the more your engine needs the headers, the more gain you will see from them.

as far as other mods i dont have anything to special--- hypertech chip, cold air intake and no cats-- i ran a 13.42 at 104.99 on street tires with just these three mods(in kansas)-- once i get headers and some traction, what should i expect to see in the quarter?

Long tubes are the only way to go if you don't have to pass emissions.

Hooker 2151's are great for the L98 or LT1, they don't have any smog provisions. They are also reasonably priced. I particularly like them over the other brands because they have a bolt up collector rather than the slip fit that some other companies use.

Summit Racing or I got mine used off the forum. Also there is a good Group Purchase going on right now on Exotic Muscle Headers for an excellent price. Might want to check it out!
