Looking at maybe getting a aftermarket set for the 89 I am working on. From what I understand the stock injector is rated at 22lbs. Since the car has a mass air system is it possible to use a 24 or even 26 lb injector without any other changes??

Re: Nuther Injector Question (LSC SS)
Those lb/hr ratings are often rated at different pressures. Put enough pressure across a 22 lb'er and it'll flow 30 lbs.
If you can find a source online that shows the lb/hr and psi ratings for both injectors, you'll be able to compare better.
Easiest way to change their flow rate is to increase the fuel pressure. You'll hit the ceiling sooner this way though. I think when stock the injectors only max out to ~80% duty cycle, so you have room to spare.
I rebuilt my '91 with new Edelbrock Performer heads and a TPIS ZZ9 cam. I discussed the injectors with TPIS for some time and they recommend that you keep the lower rated,OEM level injectors and raise the PSI of the fuel...this gives better atomization of the fuel upon injection.
LSC: While you have the upper engine apart (I assume this from reading the post), do yourself a favor and replace the stock Multec injectors you have. Even if they are OK now, they may not be in the future. These injectors are crap! You cannot get them serviced due to their failure record. The Multecs are a battleship gray in color. I put a set of 88 Bosch injectors in my 89 Vette because three of eight had shorted out coils. Hope this is helpful.
Yep, the injectors are definetely getting changed. They appear to be clogged due to the gas turning to varnish. So far the best price I found was $174 for new stock take outs and $209 for new 24# Accels.
