Setting The Throttle Position Sensor
I got the book, and it just show a picture of it basically. I searched, and found that hooking a Volt Meter to the top 2 terminals of the TPS, and moving it around until its 0.65v @idle and <4.0v @ WOT
I put my volt meter on it, and it wont do anything until I set it to ohms...?
Anyways, my meter only adjusts in increments of 1K and X10...so which do Iuse?
Use the top and middle wires from the TPS. If I remember correctly, the middle wire takes the ground (black) connection, but if you connect it backwards (top wire (-) black and middle wire (+) red) no harm will be done, you'll just get a negative (-) reading on the meter.
The engine should be "off" but the ignition key "on". Checking for 4.0+ volts with the engine running will call for a lot of RPMS and isn't a good idea to rev the engine that high in park/neutral.

I found that there is no separate adjustment for the WOT position on the TPS. You set the idle voltage and the WOT voltage goes along with it.
Right now, I have the TPS set at .80V and 4 degrees BTDC. And STILL it pings just as it shifts under hard acceleration. The knock sensor is fine and there are no codes. Lean much? More FP.

First you need to set base idle to 450rpm, otherwise TPS base readings will be somewhat higher.
Loosen both screws a little and rotate the TPS to get the base reading; then rock about the bottom screw to get highest WOT value. Verify the base reading is still ok; tweak the adjustment to get the desired base value and maximum WOT value.
The method I use in described on my site.
