I have the electronically controlled 4L60E so I can program in the shiftpoints it seems (I'm new to programming on this computer). In the $EE ECU it seems there is a table "Manual Mode Up/Down Shift Points" in TunerCat. I'm assuming that this table only applies when you manual select 1st, 2nd, or D on the shifter. I would like to edit the data so I would never downshift without manually selecting the downshift. I think that would really help to avoid downshifts mid corner. The car has 3.73 gears and a 3000rpm stall so I should almost always be in my power band, but will have to shift it 2nd for sure, don't want to have it downshift into 1st on a slow corner unless I tell it to.
Obviously this isn't a good setup for the street, and I would plan to reflash at the AutoX event, then reflash back to my normal program before I hit the street.
My question is this the correct table, is there another/other tables I should be looking at? Also is it safe? It seems like it should be, I'm not going to be playing with the line pressures or anything else, as they have already been tuned and the transmission itself has a shiftkit.
