Default ACC carpet set... Not fitting well.....

Anyone else had a problem with the ACC carpet sets? I am having hell with the sills, and the drivers underdash parts.. Their carpet is way too stiff... The glue doesn't wan to stick to the backing at all... Not very happy with the ACC people right now.. :mad

I am surprised to hear poor fit. My carpet fit almost perfectly. I install floor covering for a living and expected alot of work fitting carpet. If you can lay carpet in sun it will help make more pliable. Do not heat with hair dryer or heat gun. It will f up the pile. 3m trim adhesive (spray) works the best.

Yeah..I found out the hard way about the heat gun... If the molds were in the right place on the sills, thay would not be so hard.. I just put a piece in the dryer, seems to have helped... I am using Permatex spray glue in the orange can.. it works good, just take a lot for the plastic backing on this carpet...

The trim spray has highest strenght if you use it like contact adhesive. Spray on cpt then spray plastic. Let dry well spray 2nd coat to each side. Let dry again. When both sides are completely dry(10 min or so) bond together. If you are doing this already disregard. Some people spay and stick right away. No grab this way
