Default Oil Temp Sensor

I'm trying to replace the oil temp sensor that broke during project header install. I called the local GM dealer and they gave me GM PART # 1020149.
But is describes it as a oil pressure and fuel pump switch. They said it is the right part, but I have no idea. Has anyone had to replace this??? Any insight would be cool..

The oil temp sensor for my '88 Vette is GM P/N 25036282, $31.80, from my local Chevy dealer in Sep. of 2002.

It definitely is NOT the same part as either the oil pressure switch or the oil pressure sensor.

You might pull the oil temp sensor and take it with you to the Chevy dealer; sometimes you need to point it out on the PC screen for parts.

Yeah the funny thing is that mine broke and I had to get a new one. I just called up Superior Chevrolet and had a new one on the way in no time. Brian called them up and asked for the same thing and they told him that such a part doesn't exist.

For some reason I don't still have my reciept or we could just get the part number offf of that. :smash: :smash: I've got my receipt for SPARK PLUGS, but not that, I don't understand where it could have ended up.

The local chevy dealer is pretty dumb so it would be good to verify that part number. I'm gonna look in my service manual when I get home, it might have the part number in it.

Well I'm staring at the part in the factory service manual. Unfortunately nowhere can I find a part number for it.
