"what muffler do you have"
hey. want to know what muffler should i get for my 383 vette .was going to go with magnaflow put its 2.5'' ....write back and let me know what mufflers you got......thanks

Buyer's choice, I guess. I put Central Corvette's Performance mufflers on my 93 stock LT1 ( I think I paid $249 for the pair) and they were shipped from Magnaflow. I love them, great sound, no resonance and nice build quality. But in reading the many, many posts about mufflers on the forum, I find that people are very subjective in reporting their reactions to this type of muffler or that. One guy will love a particular type, someone else will hate it. I guess you pays your money and takes your chances. I did not want to spend $500 + for mufflers and was very satified with what I got for the price. :yesnod:

well, sorry to say,i have stockers on my 84' believe it or not....ouch! she needs to breath more thats why im gonna try SPINTECH mufflers with there super hi-flow cat. ive always had flowmasters on my cars and i want to try something different.ive heard the spin's before and like the screaming sound of em'. they have a site and i think its- http://www.spintechmufflers.com

Well since your profile says you've got an 87 you can pretty much ignore the people who are saying Corsa. It CAN work but it's not just a bolt on. It'll take modifications to the system, plus it'll cost you about $800 or more :eek:
If you just want mufflers there are plenty of options out there. Personally I like flowmasters. IMHO you won't find a better exterior sound. The problem is that the exterior sounds comes at the cost of high interior resonance. I can handle it, a lot of people can't.
All the mufflers that are quieter on the inside sacrifice something on the outside. It's all about what you can handle. Unfortunately it's hard to know if you're gonna like something or not until you've already spent the money and have it on your car.

Ive got flowmasterson the Nova and love them, but on the Vette I have SLP stainless, and they are awesome! Totally different sound than the flowmasters.

Ive got the straight thru ZR1 Style mufflers... just 2 pipes, straight hrough, but tunes on the inside for a perfect rumble! No resonance to speak of, and it will turns heads!
