Default Spec needed: stock rear spring bolt length

Could anyone tell me the length of the stock rear spring bolts? Do the aftermarket lowering bolts typically have the drilled hole for the cotter pin like the stockers? How much shorter/longer are most lowering bolts, and how are they different?

I know you can just remove the cotter and crank the nut down on the stock bolts, but I don't want to do that for resons of safety. I'd appreciate any info. :)

Stock hex head cap screws:
14mm(D) x 2.0 x 230mm(L) grade 9.8 (min tensile strength 130,500psi)
they are equivalent to SAE --
9/16" x 9" grade 6 (min tensile strength 133,000psi) or grade 8 (min tensile strength 150,000psi)

I knew once but forgot. I thought it was in the 8 to 10 inch range. If you lengthen one inch you get an inch of lowering and so on, is that correct?

Hmm...I'd swear the stock bolt took a 21mm socket the other night. Maybe I mis-remember. Thanks for the info, though.

I believe he's refering to the thread size and not the head size.

sorry if that was confusing to anyone...
stock bolts have a diameter of 14mm, length of 230mm and the thread pitch is 2.0
diameter is mearsured at the shank, not the head. i don't recall what diameter the head of the bolts are.
divide by 25.4 to get measurements in inches

The stock bolt from my 86 coupe is 9.25" overall, with the cotter pin hole at 8.25". The MAD Lowering bolt is 10.5"
