Default Good place for C4 performance part?

What are some good sites to look at for late C4 performance? Any site with dedicated areas for C4s? I've looked at Mid America and Eklers, but wasn't very impressed....

Also, I saw a post in some exhaust thread that showed test results from all the aftermarket C4 exhausts - showed actual HP gain and dB....anyone know where to find this info/link to that thread?

Other than the sites you mention there are not too many. There are many parts available and I am sure that the forum members can recommend great products and then recommened the best place to buy

Do you know what kinds of things you're looking for. Give us an idea and I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions.

it definatly isnt limited to C4 parts but when it comes to straight up performance you cant get much more selection that summit racing in my humble opinion

Well, I'm still on my search for a good vette...either LT1 or LT4, but I'm already looking at performance mods. I'm not gonna want to make a stroker I don't think.....heads ported, cams, roller rockers, valve springs, valve grind and new valves, long tube headers, intake, sport cats, cat-back system, 52mm throttle body (i'm guessing 58 would be too big for a 350), will probably need bigger injectors and FPR, and then after all that engine work it might be smart to work on suspension and brakes - in order to handle the extra power better. I know LPE sells a good looking suspension kit....haven't researched brake packages, but maybe there's a Z06 brake conversion out there?

PS I know cat back exhausts are often discussed on the forum.....so I will also ask for recommendations. My criteria for these: no round tips!!! I really like the looks of the square tips from the B&B. Of course, good flow is a priority; I also want it to be loud...I guess its just an ego thing, but I like a loud rumble that signifies that I have arrived

Well it sounds like you have the plan well in mind so the rest is just finding the parts. Heads, cam (& valve train) and exhaust are the way to power.

Don't try to get the "package" from one vendor; I think you will need to mix & match to get the right setup. Once you decide on the exact parts the vendors will fall out of the mix.

BTW, do you have a copy of the "Corvette Black Book" (Amazon); it has details on changes & options from year to year that may help with your selection of the right Vette.

Nope...never heard of the book, but I'll check it out. As I am going to be a college student come this fall I know finding a good vette will involve a little give and take...I won't have the budget to buy the lowest mileage LT4 GS out there....basically I'm looking anything from '92 to '96 that has been well maintained. (and obviously, the mods would come over a period of time) I really don't care for the '92, '93 seats, but I don't think it'd be smart to let that get in the way if I found a good deal. Of course it has to be a manual (BTW would I need to beef up the tranny/clutch with all these mods?) and for handling reasons, it also has to be a liftback.....

You need to check out Exotic Muscle. It's not your typical site like Ecklers, etc., but they have solid *performance* parts available for C4s, and the guys you'll talk to on the phone over there are the same ones who'll turn wrenches, so they can give you feedback about your plans for your car.

Sounds like you already have a pretty good idea as to what really works in these cars, so stick around and you'll know where to go for parts when the time comes. BTW, since you want a stick anyway you might as well start with an LT4 to get the best heads and a good jump start on your HP quest. The factory rated 30 HP difference is more like 40 to 50 from what I understand!

Well,

you've got to be impressed with Mid-Am and Eckler's for being able to charge those ourageous prices for simple stuff and get away with it. And to post in their catalog a "20HP increase" when you install their airfoils and be laughed at by the "in-the-know" Vette guys.

It takes big nards, if nothing else.

exoticmuslce.com - exactly the kind of shop I was looking for, thanks Perfusion. And yeah, I figure I'll just go with an LT4 now - already has better flow, valves, springs, and the ZR1 brakes (right?)...probabaly less expensive to just buy one of those, than to have all of it done on an LT1...
