to seperate the cap from the rest of the assy you will need a E-5 inverted torx bit. you will not be able to find one in sears, autozone, nappa, home depot, or a local hardware store. you have one of two choices either get one from snap-on or make one. both time that i change my cap and rotor i made my own out of a small section of break line. i took one of the new screw that the cap and rotor kit came with and put it in a vise (surrounding in brass so that i wouldn't damage the threads) with the head facing up. i then took the small section of break line (i forgot the size that i used) and put the flared end over the head of the screw and tapped the other end with a hammer until it could not be tapped down onto the screw anymore. take it off and, walla, a E5 inverted torxs bit that you paid $2.00 for instead of paying $20.00. you just cant abuse it too much because it is after all break line.

isn't that the same as the torx with the hole in it? A safety torx... it has been so long since I did mine... 3+ years, now!

I got mine off with a regular socket.
I forget what size, but it worked.

sorry, gang, got myself confused on all the variances in torx screws!
one of the torx screws that comes out of the plate on top of the throttle body works well. I took one out of an old throttlebody and chucked it up in a drill. Worked fine for me.
