Default Replaced Opti now won't run...

I got the car back together last night and went to crank it. It idles rough and dies. I said F-IT and went to bed. Is the the later opti able to install wrong? I lined up the key with the pin and it finally slipped on and seated all the down. I think it might be the wires on the drivers side. I'm checking those tonight. :banghead:

Be methodical about checking all the connections. It's easy to forget something when your tired.

On the vented opti, as long as it sits completely flush against the timing cover, it should be aligned ok.

I'm going to trace all the wires back and make sure. I thought that if the Opti was fluch it was lined up. Just wanted to make sure it is my first Opti replacement. THANKS.... :smash:

This sounds PAINFULLY familiar!

If all the wires are correct...then i'll bet'cha the opti drive cam is off a couple teeth one way or the other. It IS possible...i KNOW...even though it's SUPPOSED to be keyed to only go in one way. Everthing "felt" right on the install, and I spent 2 days looking for the problem before it was finally figured out.

When you put the drive cam in, you've got to use an inspection mirror to make SURE it's keyed right. :banghead:

Checked all the wires this AM and they were good.. I knew what that meant so I just dug in and took everything back off a lot easier this time. Also found an easy way to get to the driver wires take belt off and tensionioner and they they are.. But anyways pulled the Opti and it looked close but after about 10 tries it just went all the way flush and I knew that was it. I bolted the Opti down and crancked to see and she fired right up and reved. So now I have to go get some more waterpump gaskets and put everything back. At least noe I know it runs!!! THANKS......

Everything back on and runnin' good. The heater hose I could not find at AutoZone. So I cut and re-used. I took out for a test drive and all is good feels smoother. Still have a slight volt issue at idle.... ROCK, ROLL, AND RECYCLE.....

That sucks that you had to take it apart again but I'm glad you got it fixed.
