I am looking at changing my 94 auto rear end gears from the stock 2.59 to the 3.07s. On my year car you have to reprogram the computer with the new info but I wanted to find the best method to do this.
I can try and get a used Hypertech off ebay ~ $150-200 range.
I also hear there is some software out there that will do the same thing plus a whole lot more ??
I have a laptop and PDA so I guess I would need the software and connection cable of some sort.
What is it I would need in this case and where to find and how much $$$

Your 2 choices are the Hypertech PP and LT1Edit. (That's what they wanted you to ask the Scan and Tune people about :-))
Be sure that the Hypertech that you buy is not programmed with the previous owner's serial number in the unit. Otherwise, it will not load any programs into your PCM. I have heard some stories of other forum members buying used PPs with this problem.
LT1Edit is going to be a more comprehensive solution that can do more things than the Hypertech PP can. The hypertech would be considerably easier to use than LT1Edit but with less overall functionality or potential.
If you want to tune more aspects of your car than just your rear end gears, LT1Edit is for you. It will also be useful if you do more mods on your car in the future that would require some level of re-tuning of your computer.
