Default L98 engine problems need help?

just curious as to what a spun main/rod bearing sounds like? I have good oil pressure and it sounds like metal to metal contact from the front of the engine. Car is not down on power at all and still runs strong except for the noise its beinging to make which can be heard over the exhaust and fan. Any ideas?

Have you checked the damper behind the carnk shaft pulley; if the elastomer goes the outer rind can separate from the inner and move around making contact with the block.

What about the simple things?

Try running it without the belt, it might just be a siezed bearing on an accesory.

I had a similar noise, but it was just a bolt that backed out of the smog pump and was rubbing on the pulley.
