Default 4+3 to Auto conversion

Im ditching the 4+3, and trowing in a 700R4. I started this project w/ only a rebuildable core of a 700, and I have almost all the parts that I think i need.
Has anyone here ever done this swap, and if so, let me know how it went.

So far i have the tranny, Torque Brace for an Auto (im guessing i need to modify it to fit the Dana44 rear end). I have a drive shaft for an Auto w/ a yoke, im guessing i'll need to combine the 2, using the back half of the 4+3 shaft, and the front half of the auto shaft. I got the shifter, shift cable, brake pedal assembly, passing gear cable and console plate. I know i'll need the tailshaft housing for the auto, and a flywheel.
Im thinking this is all im going to need on this conversion, if anyone has any tips on this, or has doneit before let me know how your swap went.

Thanks

I have used all the manual parts in my conversion , only thing I had to buy was flexplate.
"C" beam is specific to the rearend not the gearbox,only needs changing if changing diff.700R4 bolts straight in ,however at a minimum need to modify existing recess in tunnel (that was for the manual shifter) to gain more clearance on speedo drive.I have used the man yolk (same spline count) the only difference I can see is a damper on the auto shaft.I have had no problem(vibration ) with mine.
Believe you have to modify tunnel (fibreglass to mount factory shifter) mine is on the other side of car so was able to take advantage of flat area on top of tunnel to mount my B+M Quicksilver.
Use existing cooler in radiator for auto cooling.TB has mount and fitting for TV cable to trans.
Email me for pics and measurements.Car is 2 feet in the air at present

Did your car origionally have a 4+3.
I know that in the ZF 6 speed cars you can use all the same parts i.e drve shaft, torque brace. but I have heard that the 4+3 is a longer transmission, and I would be able to use my existing toruqe brace/drive shaft.
let me know, thanks.

I did this swap on my 1985 vette from the 4+3. You can use the same driveshaft, same torque arm. You need the flexplate, kickdown cable for trans, shifter, shifter cable, part of the tunnel needs to be cut away for the auto to fit. You will also need to wire up a switch or something so you can lockup the torque converter on your auto trans. I didn't use the stock transmission cooler, I installed a much larger tranny oil cooler. You will also need the trans flexplate shield. You will need to do some modifying to install the auto shifter. Also you need the cable to go from the shifter to the steering column so that the car will only start in park or nuetral. You will also need a nuetral safety switch. You can wire the same wires that went to the manual trans, wire them to the auto shifter so that your backup lights will work when you put the car in reverse (I think it was the blue and green wires). If you have any other questions just email me.
