Pop up headlights
Can someone show me a good article on replacing the bushings in my headlight motors. I dont have a clue as to where they are located. Someone told me at one time that I could get the same kind of bushings from Home Depot. Is this true?

all they are is a chunk of delrin or nylon of a specific dimention.
As for what that is, I don't know... thankfully, I have not had to replace mine yet.

PS: took my laptop apart last nite... replaced the HD.... I think the old one is garbage... it rattles when I shake it. :D

The bushes are very cheap - about $4.50 a set from Ecklers. There's a tech tip by Jackyl that explains it all - here's the link -

I did one side at Christmas, it took about 2 - 3 hours cos I had to understand how the lights were connected and so on, I plan to do the other soon, before I forget what I learnt.
The old bushes are sacrificial - designed to break and save the motor if something jams. They crumble away with age, very messy but must be cleaned out. You need a bit of force to push the gear wheel back in but it's all very obvious thanks to the tech tip.
