I went with the TRW and the matching Speed-Pro rings that Summit sells with them. You can go to http://www.summitracing.com and they have all the weights of the speed-pros. They might even have the KB's. You're talking Keith Black's right? If so, if you are talking about their Hypo pistons, stay away and get some forged TRW's. As to rings, a file to fit set will be the best but if you aren't that experienced with this, get a already fit set that you'll just have to adjust a little or none at all. Total-Seal makes nice rings but they cost a lot more. The speed-pro units will be fine unless you're going crazy, what engine are these parts for?
OK i heard bad things about TRW, that they are heavy. The KB I talk about is the FORGDE ones these http://www.flatlanderracing.com/kb_forgedchevy.html
I would like to go with JE, but they are a bit expensive.
The parts is fo my rebuild. A Hotcamed 6spd LT1intake car, with TF23 heads.
Yes, they are heavy. But they do sell lightweight designs which are a lot lighter. I got the lightweight ones for my 383 and they are very light, I don't have a number handy but they felt signifigantly lighter than the normal forged pistons I have fealt before.
