Headers and Starter Problem.... Need A Mini Starter
Well the SLP long tubes look and sound great! But they dident get along well with my starter.... Heat Soak! So I'm looking for a MINI Starter, any advise on the best one, where to get it and who has the best deals? :confused:

Most times it's the solenoid that is getting the heat soak and causing the problem; happened to me after installing TPIS long tubes.
I bought a solenoid heat shield from AutoZone for less than $10 - and, of course a new solenoid, - and everything has been working fine for some years now. Still using the same old starter.

Huh, mine's just fine. The LT1 uses a fairly small gear reduction starter from the factory, maybe that's the difference. If the starter from an LT1 will bolt up you might try that, assuming they are in fact different.
