My tranny sounds different
Several months ago, my tranny took a dump and I had it rebuilt. While I was add it, I had a torque converter, shift kit, and trans cooler installed as well. Since then, I've put on a good number of miles and its definitely broken in but the sound is still the same. After a rebuild or modified tranny, should it sound louder than before? I have trouble describing sounds but it the closest thing I can come up with is old. It definitely isn't quiet like it was before. Is this normal? :confused:

I had my Auto trans rebuilt 20K miles ago. I never really paid any attention to the "sound" of the trans other that when it shifts. After mine took a dump, I also installed a new torque converter, shift kit, and later I installed a trans cooler. The only difference from before the rebuilt to after for me was that it shifts like it should shift again, and the shifts are a heck of a lot firmer. The clutches inside mine where burnt from overheating.
Was a "sound" the reason you had it rebuilt in the first place?
