Default Idle Fueling ?

Is it normal to idle rich when warmed up? I can get my BL up to 120-122 when first going to closed loop idle and stay there until I go for a drive, then when coming back down to idle in P/N BL drops to 108-110 again.

So far I have adjusted my Inj Constant to 25.35 for the SVO 24lb/hr injectors, get my BL numbers around 125 for part throttle cruising, just having a time with the warm idle. Great off-idle throttle response though. IAC counts between 45 and 60.

Thanks,

Dunno about the '88 ECM. On the newer models, idle operation (closed TPS) has its own
timing and fuel control parameters.

Have you changed cam profile in that engine?

If so, you will possibly need to tweak the idle fuel set points. Some recent tech info on this
was posted here:

If not, rich idle may indicate some other problems in the engine. For example, it might be time
to flow check the injectors, check for vac leaks, replace O2 sensor, check CTS sensor, check ignition
for misfire, or something similar...

Running the idle BLMs down to 108 seems abnormal to me, since it indicates a >15% excess fuel
condition. That appears too much to be caused by just a 24# injector change alone.

Good luck.
