Source for 383 LT4 / Long block
I've been thinking of dropping in a 383. I've looked at the LPE site and $14,000 is a little out of my reach but LPE tunes, installs, and gives you a warranty...
Any suggestions?

Save yourself a headache. If you reallly want it done right the first time, you want a turn-key solution and you can afford it go to LPE. Any shop can screw up but with LPE you have their reputation and the warranty just in case.

Scoggin Dickey makes an outstanding one with Callies Racemaster crank, Lunati rods, JE pistons, etc. Give them a call or check them out by clicking here

I didn't realize you were planning on having it down while you are over there.

Well, even with LPE, you don't get the 2yr/24K mi warranty unless they install the engine in your car. To make it a catch-22, they don't take in any cars older than 1992.
