Forced air or Ram Air
Can I get some opinions on which would give more HP, forced air or ram air...
According to Ecklers, the Ram air takes "cool, pressurized air from the radiator cavity, while the Forced air has a "scoop" that forces the air into the filter.
Ram air: $285
Forced Air: $419
Ram air without a doubt. TRUE ram air will have an opening on the outside facing forwards of the car so that as vehicle speed increases the ram air speed increases in unison.
p.s.
I think the $419 kit you are looking at is the A/O Engineering kit. If so that is a true ram air setup even though they call it 'forced'. The "ram" air things like the Breathless performance aren't real ram setups.
Had a weird idea for ram air while looking at the Mid America Catalogue. They have a kit that replaces the front air dam and has cooling hoses for your front brakes. What if you ran those hoses up to the TB? In theory you would have RAM air without that big hole in your front fascia.
