Question about eliminating Electronic climate control....
My Electronic Climate control is history...I would like to get rid of it and just install the normal switches...It's a 89 with elec defog and no heated mirrors...How difficult is this?...Thanks in advance

I wouldn't do it. The manual system has a completly different control system and I don't think it would be a cost effective replacement. You can replace the ECC unit for much cheaper. Plus, the electronic a/c is nice to have, when it actually works :smash: :lol:

Just out of curiousity, what happen to the ECC? Mine went on the fritz and I clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. :confused:

Have you checked eBay? There are parts on there from time to time. Also check the Forum's parts section. You may find controller parts for less than the conversion would cost you.

I actually took mine apart per one of the tech notes. I cleaned all of the contacts. It works perfectly now. Spent maybe 1 hr from start to finish.

Ok thanks...I have a friend that's good with electronics maybe he can figure something out...The display isn't working and sometimes it works and shuts off among other things...Basically it has a mind of it's own. I can always use the :smash:

I'll make you a better deal than that. I've got a spare that i used before I knew you could clean them and fix them. Its your free if you pay the shipping. It worked when I pulled it out a year ago and has been with all the other Vette stuff since then. Let me know. :cheers:
