I'm interested in doing the TB bypass, but the how-to mentions draining the coolant beforehand to avoid making a mess when I pop the lines off the TB. What's the best way to do this?
I have an '85 and just replaced all the coolant hoses. I turned the plug at the bottom of the radiator just enough to get a controlable trickle, and once it's down a couple inches or so in the radiator, the lines on the TB will be empty :yesnod:
Just wait for the car to cool, open the upper radiator hose, and pour some out onto the driveway, and feed it to the neighbors cats and dogs

Ouch.....you're gonna catch some crap for that one. I know you're joking, but that one's gonna step on some toes. If one of my neighbors did that to my dog, I would feed him some antifreeze....by whatever means necessary.
:leaving:
Anyhow, back to the topic. Open the drain valve and drain off a few inches. Very simple. And if you use a clean container, you can pour it right back in when you're done.....to ensure that no innocent animals accidentally ingest it. And hose off the driveway too, just to be safe.
