90 corvette starter problem ??

Default 90 corvette starter problem ??

the battery is good if you turn the key it clicks and rotates the belt a fraction of an inch. any ideas . or tips to replace the starter, thanks

Make sure the battery is good. Take it over to a parts store and they will test it for free. Then check your connections/cables. Last thing is to remove the starter and take it to the parts store and they will test that too for free.

PowerMaster makes excellent starters and alternators.

Measure the battery terminal voltage during a crank. It must not fall below 9.0 volts or the battery is discharged, at the end of its life or the cable connections are poor. If the no load battery terminal volts is below 12.0 volts, the battery is discharged. Remove battery cables (neg first) and clean both the cable lugs and the battery terminals and replace (neg last). If the battery volts hold up during a crank, then consider that the starter solenoid contacts are burned and need replacing.

after checking the voltages they were ok ,removing the starter i did a no load test the starter soleniod was bad
