I have 109k on the car and haven't changed to rear diff lube. I know what you're thinking it's on my list of things to do this spring. anyways I have a friends who sells amsoil and I was going to get some but his mechanic said since I have so many miles on it to just replace with GM lube.
is this correct?

Re: rear diff lube? (ittlfly)
I don't think it matters what gear lube, as long as it's evenly or over the minimum rating. Amzoil should be able to tell you if it's equivalent to or greater than the standard minimum rating (for GM use), it's usually printed on the product container.
