Throttle arm connection

Hi All,

I need some advice on a connection to the throttle body butterfly arm on my 87. I need some info on how to get the plastic connector off the upper part of the throttle shaft arm. The 2 lower ones are easy but the plastic one on top is a mystery. It is a 17 year old plastic part that is probably brittle and will break easily. Is it a push fit ? Pry off with a screwdriver ? Slide it one way or the other ? HELP !!

Can't say for sure on the 87, but on my 91 it slides forward to disengage.

same for the 87. Don you are soooo right about 17 year old plastic. The cable should be ok, its all the wire connectors that fall apart. :thumbs:

Thanks everyone for the tip on the connection. I will slide it forward and be careful doing it.

I am going to do a complete cleaning of the TB. Any tips regarding this task.

Sliding the plastic connector forward worked like a charm. It really pays to ask the experts. Thanks everyone.
