Hi I have a 86 corvette ,I am looking for the fitting thats goes in the radiator that the low coolant level sensor goes into.
The person that i bought the car from must of removed it because the switch leaked.
The sensor part# I have is gm-10054615,,,I just need the fitting...
any idea where i can get it?
thanks
Good question. The one on my 86 leaks some too, and is faulty. I got a new sensor from GM, but I would like to know the answer as well before I install the new one.
Hi Darkman you have a 86 also.is the fitting on the passenger side of radiator just below the trans cooling line?
I called a few chevy dealers they know what the switch is but cant come up with how it goes in the radiator.

Yes it is on the passenger side. I am thinking that it just presses into the hole where it goes. The radiator should be equipped with what is needed.
Ran into the same problem on my 86. The radiator had been replaced, I believe with a brass tank unit. The original alum/plastic model had a spot with a rim to capture the sensor. Mine just had a threaded hole and GM parts guys had no idea. I bought a pipe plug to fit and drilled the correct size hole just undersize for the O-ring to seal and then undercut two sides for the latches. that's the only way I know to make it work other than a new GM radiator. Good Luck
My Harrison radiator came with a cover over the hole. The sensor doesn't screw in but it has two side clips that click around the boss comng outof the radiator and it's sealed by two O-rings. The sensor is officially called a "Probe" part #10054615. It retails for $18.30.
