The bar along the side stays lit up between 65 and 85 mph all the time now. I still have the number readout. Is it fatal, or is there a few things i can check to try to solve it. I know these are kinda tempramental. Thanks! :seeya
That bar is driven by an IC on one of the circuit boards in the cluster and is most likely the problem. You can probably get the IC, but you had better have the removal equipment and the knowhow or you will ruin the circuit board which will turn out to be many more times expensive than sending it to a repair station.
You might want to try pressing gently or tapping in the area where the bars are
staying on before you condemn the IC. The boards are sandwiched and if not
aligned correctly, things won't lightup or they'll stay on. You more than likely
have a connection that needs to be cleaned up or resoldered.
