Guys, thanks for the help with the stuttering problem my '87 was having - I replaced the Mass Air Flow sensor and the ECM and it seems to run fine now. The problem I'm having is that my check engine light will come on after running for a while. It is throwing a Code 33, and given that I replaced the MAF and ECM, I'm thinking that the problem is a relay of some sort between the MAF and the ECM.
Does anyone know what this relay is called, where it is, how I can swap it out, and where might be the best place to buy a new one? Thanks.
Note: I swapped out the MAF for a Granatelli MAF and I can't figure out how to adjust this MAF, but I don't think that is giving me my current problem.
I know what the problem is. You put in a high flow MAF and the measured airflow at a given rpm is higher than stock so the computer sets the code 33. The only way to change this is to up the threshold in the prom or go back to your stock MAF. You also need to increase the airflow limits in the 'airflow vs rpm' table to have the computer use the reported airflow.
