Replace door or repair?
Recently had an accident that has left a 19" gash and hole in the base of the door.(see pic) Unfortunately I will be repairing out of pocket, Looking around the web I found that I can get a whole door minus the inside panel for around $400-$500 but I'm worried about color match and proper alignment. Can anyone advise which way would be best to go with this kind of damage. I haven't run around to the body shop yet for an estimate and have no idea what this type of repair might cost. Just trying to get a feel from someone who may have had similar repair work or someone who replaced a door.

Trust me on this, change door with good used or change doorskin. It only glues on . The doorskin would be the route I would take. I can tell you horror stories from repairs.

This type of repair is labor-intensive at a body shop. Last year when some idjit backed into my Ruby, in my innocence I figured the repair would cost about $300. HA! Try $1,000 on for size. :mad
