I have a knocking from what sounds like inside my drivers door when driving over even the smaller bumps in road. It sounds like my door isn't closed tight but it is. Any ideas? also where can I find method of removing door panel without damaging it if I have to get in there to see what's up. window and lock works fine so I have no clue what it might be. Thanks in advance for any help. ragtop
No problem, remove:
-screws around perimiter of carpet
-screw below hatch release
-screw behind door handle
-two screws at gotton of door pull
-four screws around Bose speaker
Put a small flat blade under the door lock and pry the plastic piece off the rod.
Then lift the door panel slightly, tip it slightly and reach behind and open all necessary connectors. There are two screws that hold the door light connector.
Check that all bolts & screws are in place and wrap some thin weather stripping around plastic connectors so they don't impact plastic or metal.
I find what usually starts rattling in the door first is the solenoid for the power door locks. It's just mounted to the door frame by a rivet and that rivet loosens up over time. I bet that's your prob.
