Intake manifold gasket question
I'm getting ready to put in my stock intake manifold ('85) back on but had a question. One side (the driver's side) of the manifold does not allow antifreeze through it. Neither of the gaskets have those little silver metal restrictor plates in the middle them. Are those little plates necessary on the side of the manifold that has no opening? I'm trying to prevent a problem before it starts.
Did I explain this OK? I can give more detail, even take pictures if necessary.
Thanks,
Shayne

I thinnly apply sensor safe silicone on both sides of the gaskets to forestall leaks, dimple the China walls and the corresponding underside of the manifold, and use a bead of silicone safe silicone on each end.
I torque the bolts to 35# and re-torque them after a couple of hours since the bolts can sometimes lose torque due to compression of the gasket material.
