Default P1SC/D1SC for LT1

All you P1SC/D1SC LT1 vettes. did you know why are your self contains supercharger so quiet?? in fact to quiet that no one will acknowlwdge that you have a blower. Agree or disagree?? I used to say the same thing,
"you can't not hear the whine" This applied to all ATI LT1 vette that are using the serpentine belt.

I found out why my D1SC are'nt any whine sound from before.(ATI serpentine setup)
Now I am running a cogged setup and applied good belt tension on the blower. My D1SC now sound like a jet flying by. It is loud enough to get people notice when you go by or give the motor a rev while you are in park. I have the blower for over a yrs now that no body know I have a blower before . Last few day I drove my car to work and I have a few people asked me as soon as I pulled in the parking lot. They say do you have a blower in your vette?? "they say it sound so good man" It is just a perfect sound. Not extremely loud, like the P600B blower.

If your F2 are not whine I really think your belt are not tight enough. The F2 are very big blower I am sure it will whine if you applied the right tension on the belt. If you do that you will no longer be stealth any more because your F2 will whine and they will hear you coming like a jet fly by.

TJWong reported that when he put on cogged setup, his vortech sounded like a 671 blower. Maybe part of the noise is the belt noise of the teeth of the belt and gears meshing that makes that wine.

The whine sound are from the blower. The reason I can say that is because all those time when I have my cog setup running, there weren't any deep whine sound. Also, when I found out the belt are not really tight (tension) So I decided to add an addtional idler that will allowed me to further tighten the belt. When I start the motor, damn that blower is whine, I love it. I like it so much I actually turned off my radio just to listen to the whinning jet sound. Now I have 2 idler and 1 spring tensioner.

Bruce,

You might be right... but I got thebelt REAL tight... maybe even too tight... I'm not sure how to tell. I spoke with the guys at ATI (I know) and they said that the F2 shouldn't whine that much.. unlike for example the P600. I think most of the whine for example on a 6-71 blower comes from the teeth on the belt. If you have straight cut teeth on your belt it wil whine like crazy. When I rev my motor without the tube being connected to the blower outlet it blows air like crazy... I can sweep by garage floor (with the outlet pointing at the ground) with one blip of the throttle... we'll see.. once I get it out on the road... I should get my new radiator this coming week....
