6 speed convertion
hi i've got an auto 84 Vette and I'm curious as to what's needed and where to get a 6 speed manual trans conversion kit. Could I possibly buy a T56 Trans and install it without huge difficulty. Maybe the main thing would be mounting a clutch pedal and the shifting console. Thanks a lot in advance!

I converted my 4+3 car to a Richmond Racing 6-spd the swap was very straightforward already having the clutch pedal in the car. I think Keisler makes T56 conversion kits for a ton of cars, haven't checked to see if it covers your year vette. You will almost certainly have to get the pedal setup from a stick car with the clutch pedal. It should bolt in. As to the clutch hydraulic cylinder I would assume the holes are in the firewall are just plugged and you could use them. I have never taken a close look at an automatic car so can't be sure. Obviously the rear end on an auto is a Dana36 and not an Dana44, I am not sure how this affects the size of the torque arm or the driveshaft though. They might be the same size.
