Default Speedometer lag

I have noticed that my 96 has a significant lag in the digital speedometer reading versus actual speed when at full acceleration. This is most noticable at things like track days etc. when I can match my straight stretch readings against C5's with their analog speedometers. Is there a way to understand just how much of a lag there is and are there any "fixes" to eliminate it?

I was wondering the same thing, theres gotta be a way to change a chip somewhere and make the digital display closer to real time. I would guess that currently the display updates 2 times/ sec.

The only problem is that any upgrade would probably involve pulling the whole dash out and that would suck.
