84 cooling fan.
Does anyone know when the cooling fan goes on and off on the 84 vette. I was driving it today and the temps were fine... About 205 - 209 on the highway and 209 - 214 on side streets. But I noticed that the fan was running even though the temp was 209 or so. I was under the impression that the fan turned on at 228. But, my car never even got to 228 today. The fan was not running continuously, it would cycle on and off. Also if the fan wasn't running, it immediately came on when I turned the A/C on, as it should. Also, it was not running when I turned the ignition on. I think its operating normally, just curious as to when its supposed to turn on / off.

Sounds normal. Mine comes on around 226, goes off around 205. Will cycle on and off if sitting in traffic. Runs all the time when the A/C is on.
You can always run a switch to control it manually. Just run a wire from the fan switch in the passenger side head between cylinders 6 and 8 to a toggle switch, and run the other side to ground. Now it's in your hands.
