I Think wildman was seeing GT's Again an old highschool buddy of mine This ones name is dale (on this board he is known as "noroofmustang") has a 2001 gt convert. The best time he could pull out of the vert when it was stock was a 14.30 the rest of the time he landed in the 14.5-14.6 range.

Now the car has a vortech blower and runs 12.30's

Go ahead and ask me what a lightning runs bone stock. or even better ask me what a Ford GT runs (hell I work at the plant that makes them Wixom)

By the way while your asking want to know how a bowtie guy ends up in a ford facility? I work for the Budd co. The same Budd company that makes Corvette SMC I just happen to have the ford account. (I rep at two plants Michigan truck (the navigator hood and fenders are SMC) and Wixom (the T-bird hood, fenders and decklids are SMC)

Ok so no 99-02 mach 1's? ok then I'm seeing 03 mach 1's run 14's in the 1/4 then.....the ones back in 02 when I was on the lots looking for a truck must have been 03's that had just came out I guess.

I know this these cars and I mean theres tons at the track I go to....they get 14's So, it's the 04's that gott he big power boost....I know some of theme are just like 305hp and those aren't getting 13's and the late model GT'S are getting high 14's the last late GT I saw last weekend got 14.9

Easy, Cone. It's "moot", not mute, and there are lots of Mustangs (non-stock, of course) that do not fear a stock LT-4.

Who cares about non-stock. These thread is talking about stock LT4 and Stock Mach 1. And they are plenty of non-stock vettes that don't fear non-stock stangs. Again Moot point. Hey, got it right that time.

Stock for stock, I think it's great that an 8 year old Corvette can run with the latest technology Ford has to offer. But I still love my Ford P/U over Chevy's any day of the week.

Those 03's are quick! I was on the mustang board, and they run anywhere from 13.2-13.7 stock trim, so check it out.

My corvette club and the local saleen mustang club attend each others events. We go drag racing with them and they come to our autocross events.

13.2? Not in this life time. Not in factory stock form.
what was the MPH for that 13.2 run?

I'm with the majority I guess...

Stangs and vettes have always gone head to head and argued about who came first...

When I was an MP there was this Lt. that had a turbo vette that could spank my hemi charger every freaking weekend I was in town... She had her hubby (aircraft powerplant engineer) put it on to smack me around. He had put some smaller heli turbos on it of his own design (I think his stuff was in Car Craft while I was out-of-country)

Anyways... I think talking about the running is cool so long as it ain't just spec/table talk... I like to hear the win/loss column myself... there it's the DRIVER that beats you... and I compete to see the smile on faces after the running is over.

So as for the outcome between the two stone stock cars head to head same day same track same driver skills... put your money on the vette...

But you won't see much daylight between them in the 440yd dash...

Mach 1s are actually pretty damn quick.

theres a guy running around where i live with a 03 Mach... his best time after just a catback and cold air was a 12.9 at 107 with a 1.9x 60ft. neither me in my free modded LT1 6speed Vette, or my brother in his bolton LS1 6speed Z28 can beat him from a stop. both of us run low 13s at 107/108.

Mach 1s are like the 01 Cobras except for one major detail... they have a solid axle instead of the Cobras IRS. so they are much better launchers.

bottom line is a new Mach 1 stock for stock is a good match for a stock LT1 Vette. the LT4 wins hands down though

I tryed to get my buddy Eric to come out and play at test and tune today but he has water heater problems. My buddy Dale (noroofmustang) and I are going out to Milan tonight I'll let you know what his Vortech GT runs.

I've heard of plenty of guy doing almost flat 14 with older stock L98's.

Are you guys telling me that a stock L98 can stick arround with a 2003 Mach 1 mustang?

I guess that means I can spank any stock 2003 Mach 1 with my 383/TPI.
