Default Minimum Voltage for PE Mode

This just came up on the Tech/Performance board, so I though I'd ask it here where the specialists hang out.

What is the minimum WOT TPS voltage to allow PE mode activation?

I have an 86, but does it vary with the year of the car/ECM/PROM programming?

Some say 4.0, others claim it has to be as high as 4.5 volts.

Thanks,

Jake

For the older 32, 32b and 6e codes this is controlled by a table called.
% TPS TO ENABLE WOT
Given in a chart as a percentage of throttle opening at 400, 1200, 2000, 3200, and 4800 rpm.
All stock bins I have seen are all set at 70.31%
70% of 4.5 volts would be around 3.16 volts.
At least that's how I understand it.
Yes it is programmable, and this is also why those $100 throttle switches being sold are useless.

Thanks for that response. I just checked mine; it's .445 at WOT.
I'm running a re-programmed PROM; the paperwork shows it's with a Aamn.bin

I was just looking at the print-out that I got with the PROM and it reads:

%TPS TO ENABLE WOT vs RPM
400 65
1200 65
2000 65
3200 65
4800 65

I think that's what you're talking about.

Jake

Here's another one.

RPM %TPS
400 50.0
1200 50.0
2000 50.0
3200 60.2
4800 70.3

Yes, it varies by year. For instance, on my '96 the %TPS required for PE mode is as follows:

1600 - 64%
2000 - 64%
2400 - 64%
2800 - 64%
3200 - 55%
3600 - 45%
4000 - 36%
4400 - 26%
4800 - 26%
5200 - 26%
5600 - 26%
6000 - 26%
6400 - 26%
